2016 sees our second LOBO OZ gathering – this time, at the Hangar House, at Mudgee Regional Airport.

With guest speaker, Bill Harrelson and his wife Sue, flying their custom-built Lancair IV all the way from the States, we again want to gather as many Australian Lancair owners, and other interested people (hey, Wedderburn and Mudgee pilots), to meet them and show them some Aussie hospitality.

Bill and Sue left home yesterday – December 8, in N6ZQ (built for flying extremely long, record setting, round the world trips). They will be visiting many different places on the way from Virginia to Australia, and they have a wealth of experience and stories to share.

Once again, as a Lancair gathering, we should be able to:

  • Go for a fly in another Lancair type
  • Show-n-tell the features that we love on our own experimental aircraft
  • Discuss ‘best practice’, and ask questions from the experience of others (both good and troublesome)
  • Highlight critical things to know about our high performance aircraft – especially things supported by the latest findings worldwide, as highlighted on LOBO US and more.
  • And listen in awe about Bill Harrelson’s many flights.

While we are still in the planning stages, members are welcome to contribute any ideas they would like discussed; or ask questions – no matter how basic or complex. (Please add to these to the form below).

We are working on a program that will be educational, interesting and fun. Details of extras for companions not interested in the all the flying particulars will also follow; however, just being able to listen to Bill talk about his adventures will, no doubt, be the highlight of our weekend.

NOW, we need you to let us know if you are coming!! We need numbers – so lock it in today, support our LOBO OZ and let us know that you are most certainly coming to Mudgee.
