Golden Rules for Flying:
1. Aviate, navigate and communicate: always in this order.
2. Use the appropriate level of automation at all times.
3. Take action if things do not go as expected.
These rules come from 4 that are printed on a wallet-size plastic card produced by AIRBUS. But of course, they apply equally well to ANY level of flying – the first one being the most critical at a time of crisis.
There are many other Golden Rules for Flying – some are humorous, others offer words of wisdom.
Aviate, navigate and communicate. Make it your mantra.
